Being a race walker in Canada can be quite challenging financially, I do not make a lot of money out of it but I love it. That’s why I am doing it. I am proud of what I have accomplished so far, overcoming full time work, training full time and a qualification at the Olympics in 2016 will stay in my mind forever. However, on my road to Tokyo 2020, I want to maximize my chances of a more successful race by working part time.
Tokyo has been on my mind since I started walking. I knew Rio 2016 would be a “bonus” if I qualified but Tokyo will be my peak. Every morning I wake up thinking of Tokyo. The reason why I am doing it, I have been working full time in the corporate world and I know what to expect in this world and it will always be there however being an Olympic athlete is a short moment in your life and I do not want to have regrets in my life.
By getting awesome Astra gears you are helping me fund my journey to Tokyo. All the extras like massage, physio and chiro are a plus on a high training regimen. I do a lot of volume and staying healthy is a priority to achieve my goal.
